VEIL OF FLESH: Nathalie Kelley
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; and having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:19-22 (KJV)
I have meditated much about the veils. The veil in the tabernacle, the veil that Moses covered his face with; to hide the glory and then to hide the fact that the glory was fading, the veil of flesh, and us with unveiled faces. The only veil that seperates us from God is the veil that we put up because from His side nothing can seperate us from His love .
Can you imagine the disciples reaction when Jesus told them this bread is my body? This painting portrays the torn bread (His Body), the veil of the temple torn from the top to the bottom and the torn flesh-access to His heart, to the Holy Place. The colors in the prayer talit symbolize being washed with pure water.
